Using Developmental Science to Transform Children’s Early School Experiences - This brief describes seven ways teaching practices would change if schools employed a pre-k to 3 approach. For instance, in addition to addressing content knowledge (e.g., reading, math), pre-k and elementary school teachers would more intentionally develop children's thinking skills, such as self-regulation and memory.
