SchoolMatters - This Web site contains a wealth of data about public schools in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, including: (1) data on student proficiency results on statewide reading and math tests, broken down by student subgroups and grades, for every public school, district and state; (2) student demographic information including socio-economic, special education and English language learner populations at the school, district and state levels; (3) district and state financial data such as spending allocations, revenue streams, staff compensation and long-term debt; and (4) community demographic data, such as income levels, housing values, household parental status and adult educational attainment levels. The site also provides links to news and publications and tutorials on how to effectively access and compare information for parents, educators, district leaders and state leaders....

National Assessment of Educational Progress - The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), also known as "the Nation's Report Card," is the only nationally representative and continuing assessment of what America's students know and can do in various subject areas. Since 1969, assessments have been conducted periodically in reading, mathematics, science, writing, U.S. history, civics, geography and the arts. This site contains summaries of national and state test results, state profiles, publications, test questions, special studies, information and research pertaining to the NAEP exams and a link to NAEP's inclusion policy. The NAEP e-library provides various guides, manuals, and glossaries of NAEP terms, as well as access reports and resources....

The Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study - In 1999, TIMSS-R collected data in 38 countries at the 8th-grade level to provide information about change in the mathematics and science achievement of our students compared to those in other nations over the last four years. This Web site includes information on which countries participated, how student achievement was measured, what contextual information was collected and how to obtain the results....
