Improving Alternative Education in California - Ten to 15% of high school kids are being educated at alternative schools with little evaluation of progress. There is some question that low performing students are often referred to alternative schools to relieve the burden of their improvement from the traditional schools, yet one quarter of high school dropouts are coming from alternative programs.
