SAMHSA Model Programs - Model programs featured on this site by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services have been tested in communities, schools, social service organizations and workplaces across America, and have provided solid proof they have prevented or reduced substance abuse and other related high-risk behaviors. Programs included have been reviewed by SAMHSA's National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP). Visitors can access a page listing all programs alphabetically or allowing you to identify programs with a specific content focus – Academic Achievement, Alcohol Use/Abuse, Antisocial/Aggressive Behavior, HIV/AIDS, Illegal Drugs, Psychological Trauma, Social and Emotional Competency, Tobacco or Violence – or browse a matrix to compare programs at a glance. A publications page offers fact sheets on some 60 model programs, as well as research reports and more. FAQs address the most common questions about the model programs generally....
