Survey Analysis: State Statutes and Regulations Governing the Operation of Degree-Granting For-Profit Institutions of Higher Education MS Word - ECS surveyed 11 states to inquire about their statutes and regulations governing the operation of for-profit institutions of higher education. Based on the survey analysis, it appears that for-profit institutions are not singled out in the regulatory process. Protecting Tennesseans from Education Fraud - This report gives an analysis of how Tennessee is protecting the public from fraudulent educational institutions, which are commonly known as diploma mills. The report gives recommendations as to how the legislature and different state agencies can do more protect Tennesseans from fraudulent educational institutions, which include: the need for more information from state agencies regarding the dangers of diploma mills, and the need to review the standards and approval requirements of nontraditional schools.
