National Survey of Student Engagement 2013 - The 15th annual survey of student engagement is an updated model documenting aspects of undergraduate life that pay in terms of learning, retention, persistence, and completion. New measures reveal differences in majors. For example, arts and humanities seniors experienced the highest levels of effective teaching practices, while engineering seniors observed the lowest. Another factoid: online students spent more hours per week preparing for class and reading assignments than no-online students, and were more likely to report their classes were highly challenging.
