State-Funded Mentoring Program Performance Mixed; Take Stock and Best Buddies Do Well - As directed by the legislature, OPPAGA examined six state-supported mentoring programs for K-12 students. This report describes the variation among programs and analyzes participants' performance outcomes compared to those of students with similar characteristics. Mentor Delaware Year One Annual Evaluation Results - This report evaluates how well the Mentor Delaware program has met its stated goals of increasing the percentage of mentored students demonstrating improvement in core academic subjects and reducing both the percentage of mentored students who have unexcused absences from school and who violate the school discipline policy. The report is divided into three parts which contain: (1) an analysis of attendance data; (2) an analysis of three indicators of student achievement, semester grades, state assessment results in reading and mathematics and district reading assessment results using the STAR reading assessment; and (3) the number and type of violations of the school discipline policy.
