Colorado LINK: Teen Suicide Prevention Initiative Evaluation Report Summary - This report assesses the work of a privately-funded initiative in two Denver high schools to provide suicide prevention services through education, screening and treatment, as well as treatment at a homeless and runaway youth center. Strengths and challenges of the Colorado LINK Teen Sucide Prevention model also are identified. The study found that the program reached most students at the high schools, and in the high school that fully implemented the screenings, 50% of referred and screened youth were at risk of suicide, a majority of whom did not have prior access to mental health treatment. State-level School Health Policies and Practices: A State-by-state Summary from the School Health Policies and Programs Study 2000 - Generally referred to as “SHPPS 2000,” this report is the most comprehensive study of school health policies ever conducted in the United States. Included are tables indicating: the states that require instruction in suicide prevention at the elementary, middle and high school levels (Tables 1.4 - 1.6); states that offer monies for or professional development on suicide prevention for health education teachers (Table 1.12), school nurses (Table 3.16) or mental health or social services staff (Table 4.8); and states that require districts or schools to offer suicide prevention services (Table 3.3).
