Average Performance of U.S. Students Relative to International Peers on the Most Recent International Assessments in Reading, Mathematics, and Science: Results from PIRLS 20 - This analysis used the International Data Explorer, a web-based data tool on the NCES website that allows users to produce their own statistical analyses online, to assess the scores of U.S. students on the most recent international assessments of reading, mathematics, and science literacy. The Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS) - This Web site provides information on PIRLS, an international comparative study of the reading literacy of young students that focuses on the achievement and reading experiences of children in 35 countries in grades equivalent to the 4th grade in the United States. Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) - This organization of 30 member countries gives governments a setting in which to discuss, develop and perfect economic and social policy.
