Advanced Placement |
|
Launched in 1955, the Advanced Placement (AP) Program allows students to complete college-level coursework while still in high school. As of July 2005, 34 courses in 19 subject areas are offered. Depending on their performance on AP exams and the individual postsecondary institution's policy, students may earn college credit, advanced placement or both. This site provides information on What States Are Doing to promote student participation and success in Advanced Placement courses, Research and Readings on questions related to the program, Programs and Practices promoting student access and success in AP courses and exams, and Other Web Sites related to the AP program.
