We're pleased to announce a unique opportunity for National Forum participants just prior to the official start of this year's National Forum at the Peabody Orlando Hotel. On Tuesday, July 13, from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m., ECS is offering a mini-course entitled "Understanding Education Research." The course is designed to help you understand the basics of education research and will be taught by Patricia Lauer, principal researcher at Mid-continent Research for Education and Learning (MCREL) and author of the new ECS/MCREL, "Policymaker's Primer on Education Research" (see online at

This is your chance to become more familiar with key terms and concepts in education research and to learn to use education research as a tool for policy decisions.

WHERE: The course will be held at the conference hotel (Peabody).
WHO: The session will be highly interactive therefore limited in enrollment.
