Resources:
The NCLC provides information about service-learning through publications and on the Web site. Click on the Publications button at the left for a comprehensive list of our printed resources, including a series of issue briefs that address critical service-learning issues. Most of our publications are in a format to download and print. Resources include case studies highlighting successful K-12 programs linking service with learning; research findings, studies and stories about the impact of service, service-learning and volunteerism on students, schools and communities.

Meetings:
The NCLC organizes national, statewide and local meetings to share information about effective service-learning and use of school volunteers. These forums provide participants an opportunity to highlight service-learning and volunteer programs, showcase student success in service-learning and discuss challenges they face in providing high-quality education linked to community service for K-12 students. NCLC members who are interested in being part of a national or regional gathering of service-learning professionals, are encouraged to contact us!

Policy Development:
The NCLC identifies policies that support service, service-learning and volunteer efforts and provides strategies for members to learn how to work closely with state and local policymakers to develop strong service-learning policies at all levels.

Technical Assistance:
The NCLC provides hands-on, tailored assistance to member school districts and states. This assistance may include: developing, sharing and showcasing top-notch policies, models and ideas about service-learning and using school volunteers; and helping members work successfully with a wide range of people involved in service-learning, including teachers, policymakers, school board members, parents and students.

Advocacy:
Working closely with other national, state and local organizations engaged in education, service and volunteer initiatives, the NCLC contributes to a collective public voice in support of service-learning and the contributions volunteers make in efforts to improve student learning.

Leadership:
The NCLC provides leadership to help schools make quality service-learning opportunities available to all students. Chief state school officers and local superintendents have the chance to do, themselves, what they ask of students - make a contribution to their community in a way that fosters their own personal learning and growth.

Networking:
The NCLC helps members make the connections they need by offering opportunities to learn from and exchange information with their peers, teachers, policymakers, school board members, parents and students involved in service-learning.
