Building Assets, Reducing Risks (BARR) is a strengths-based K-12 model with a quarter-century track record of raising student math and reading scores, increasing teacher satisfaction and retention, and decreasing chronic absenteeism, student disciplinary incidents and suspensions. BARR is the first and only school improvement model to successfully climb the three tiers of evidence under the U.S. Department of Education’s Investing in Innovation (i3) program with twenty statistically significant outcomes for students and teachers. BARR has served 460 schools across the country. On average, BARR reduces the failure rate by 35% in just one school year.
