Madi joined Education Commission of the States in August 2018. As a member of the state relations team, Madi works to build relationships with and among education policymakers, thinkers and stakeholders in all 50 states and U.S. territories. Prior to joining Education Commission of the States, Madi worked for five years at the National Conference of State Legislatures, serving as one of the organization’s experts on early learning and opportunity gaps. She also spent four years as a public achievement coach in Denver Public Schools, where she organized six classrooms of at-risk youth to tackle community problems like access to healthy food. Madi holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Denver, and she spends her free time hiking and camping in the Rocky Mountains and painting watercolor landscapes.
