A state education council member asked about states that have proposed or enacted legislation related to bachelor’s degrees at community colleges since 2018. Our response identifies 23 states that allow community colleges to offer bachelor’s degrees, based on a 2019 report. It also includes more recent legislative action, enacted and failed, that pertained to establishing or expanding bachelor’s degree programs at community colleges.
