A staff member at a state legislative office asked about teacher shortages and their impacts. Our response included background information and data about teacher shortages across the country, and a high-level summary on the impacts of teacher shortages on K-12 schools, educator preparation programs and the students they serve. Lastly, we provided examples of recent state legislation meant to improve teacher recruitment and retention.
