Guns on Campus: The Architecture and Momentum of State Policy Action offers a detailed summary of state legislative action and higher education system policy decisions that have occurred in two specific categories: (1) states that have permitted or are seeking to permit guns on campus, and (2) states that have prohibited or are seeking to prohibit guns on campus.
On January 29, 2016 a revised version of this report was posted. Revisions included correction of an error in attribution of Washington States’ guns on campus policy to legislation; Washington allows individual institutions to make the final determination concerning the presence of concealed weapons on campus. Appendices were also modified for clarity and consistency of year of policy action.
