State Information Request: High School Start Times (archive)

A state department of education official asked about high school start times, specifically which schools are starting later and whether there is a correlation between high school start times and student performance. Our response included examples of enacted bills related to later start times, and research on later start times for adolescents. To provide timely assistance to our constituents, State Information Requests are typically completed in 24 hours. They reflect an issue scan versus a comprehensive analysis.
